Facebook will soon start a test to put highlights of Stories on profile
Facebook will let users put highlights from their own Stories on their profile in an upcoming test, so that they do not disappear. By default, footage from Stories disappears from users’ timeline after 24 hours.
The feature is called Stories Highlights, discovered Jane Wong, which sifts through Facebook app apk files in search of new features. Facebook confirms the arrival of the feature to Techcrunch.
Users can choose which footage from Stories that have already disappeared they want to use as a highlight, after which they can also add a cover to it. In addition, it is possible to make the Stories Highlights visible to a limited group of contacts, instead of all contacts.
Facebook says it will begin testing the feature with a limited group of users soon, though the social network has not said if or when the feature will be available to all users. Instagram, also owned by Facebook, has had such a feature for a while now.
According to figures collected by Techcrunch, Facebook Stories is less successful than variants of Instagram and WhatsApp. According to the figures, there are 150 million users of the Stories function, which can be found at the top of the Facebook app.
