Facebook will soon give Europeans more cookie settings

Facebook will give its European users more control and insight over collected cookies through an expanded banner and new settings menu. The company says it does this to be in line with the GDPR and the European e-privacy guidelines.

The social media company will soon introduce a new cookie form on Facebook and Instagram that will give European users more choices in terms of which cookies can be accepted.

In addition to the new cookie consent banner, the company developed a new cookie settings menu in which European Facebook and Instagram users can adjust their preferences at any time, even after they have already indicated them. It is not yet clear when the new banner and the settings menu will be rolled out. Facebook does not state whether users in other parts of the world will receive the same options.
