Facebook services have three billion monthly active users
According to Facebook, 2.99 billion people worldwide log in to a service of the company at least once a month. In addition to Facebook itself, this includes Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp. The number of users increased by 300 million in one year.
Facebook mentions the number when presenting its quarterly figures and says it is a measurement that was taken on March 31. The number of users of Facebook services continues to grow worldwide, according to the figures. The social network itself remains the most popular; there are 2.6 billion monthly active Facebook users.
The number of daily active users of all Facebook services combined is now 2.36 billion, according to the company. That is 12 percent more than at the beginning of last year. This concerns 1.73 billion daily active Facebook users. The company does not specify separate figures for the other services.
Last quarter, Facebook had revenue of $17.75 billion. That is 17 percent more than in the same period last year. The revenue comes almost entirely from advertising; revenue from the ‘other’ category in the quarter was $297 million. This includes sales of Oculus hardware.
Facebook made $4.9 billion profit in the first quarter of this year. That is much more than last year, when profits were made in the comparable quarter of $2.43 billion. Then, however, Facebook also wrote off $3 billion for the settlement it reached with the FTC for privacy violations.
