Facebook reports milestone of 1 billion users online in one day
Last Monday, 1 billion people used Facebook on the same day. According to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, it’s a milestone, but at the same time, it’s just the beginning of connecting the entire world to Facebook.
“On Monday, one in seven people on Earth used Facebook to connect with their friends and family,” Zuckerberg reported. In its previous quarterly figures, the company already said that there are almost a billion people who use the site every day. “But we use averages for the financial figures, this is different,” says the CEO.
“This was the first time we’ve reached this milestone and it’s just the beginning of connecting the whole world,” Zuckerberg continues. According to him, a connected world is a better world. Facebook now has 1.49 billion users who log into the social networking site every month. On average, 968 million people would visit the site via their desktop system every day, while an average of 844 million users log into the site daily via mobile. In 2012, Facebook reached the milestone of one billion visitors logging in at least once a month.
