Facebook releases short video maker app

Facebook has released Lasso, an application that allows users to create short videos. These videos can be provided with filters, and it is also possible to add audio. That should result in ‘happy videos’ that can be shared.

The responsible developer at Facebook for Lasso announced the arrival of the application in a message on Twitter. The software is available for Android in the Play Store and iOS in the App Store. Facebook touts Lasso as a way to create short and funny videos that can then be shared with others.

Various filters are available for making and editing the videos that can be placed over the image, but it is also possible to add audio. The available audio clips are built into the application so that users do not have to search for them themselves, and probably avoid licensing problems with used music.

The created videos can be shared directly, but it is also possible to make them part of Facebook Stories. You can also log in to the app via a Facebook account, but also via Instagram, which is also owned by Facebook.
