Facebook opens doors for business variant for test group
A small group of companies is already allowed to get started with Facebook at Work, the business variant of Facebook with which companies can let employees communicate. It is not yet known when the general public can become acquainted with the business variant.
Rumors about the business variant of Facebook have been circulating for some time, but Facebook has now confirmed those rumors, TechCrunch reports. A small number of companies have already gained access to Facebook’s latest product, which allows employees to chat and post in an environment similar to that of regular Facebook.
It is not yet known when Facebook at Work, as the business environment is called, will be available, or what companies will have to pay to let their employees use the business variant. With ‘Work’, Facebook aims at companies with more than a hundred employees.
Companies can choose to have employees use separate logins for the corporate environment, but they can also integrate them with their employees’ Facebook logins. At the moment, the business variant does not yet support advertisements or third-party applications; maybe that will change.
