Facebook lets users go ‘back in time’ with new feature
Facebook announced a feature on Tuesday that allows users to go ‘back in time’. Thanks to the functionality, they can see what has appeared about them on the social network a year, two years or more ago.
Facebook, in its own words, noticed that users need to look at old status updates. The company calls the new feature On This Day, which lets users see what they’ve posted on the same day in the past. The feature also shows what friends posted about them a year or more back, where the friends had tagged the users.
Facebook says it recently tested On This Day. The company will roll out the functionality worldwide to its website and its mobile apps in the near future, according to a blog post. Those interested in the new feature can sign up for it later by visiting a special webpage. Some also see a message automatically appearing in the news feed about the functionality.
