‘Facebook is working on ‘lite’ application for iOS

Facebook is probably working on a leaner version of its application for the iOS operating system. This lite version would only have a size of 5MB, and would be comparable in functionality to the existing Android version.

The lite version is not yet available, but sources report that the application is currently being tested among users of the iOS operating system. There are a number of differences with the regular Facebook application: for example, with 5MB the size of the app has been reduced considerably, but it must also consume less power and less data. It should therefore mainly offer a solution for users with less well-performing smartphones.

The lite application has been available for Android for some time, and it seems that the iOS version will offer similar functionality. For Android users who access Facebook via the web, the lite version has been offered as an alternative for some time.
