Facebook is working on a small-group sharing app

Facebook is working on an app that makes it possible to share information with smaller groups of people. This makes the app comparable to the friends list feature, but in the form of an app, the functionality should be easier to access.

The Facebook Moments app lets users choose from groups with which they can then share information, TechCrunch writes, citing an unnamed source. It is unclear whether that information is then accessible to those selected users via the normal Facebook interface, or only from the app.

Currently, Facebook already has the friends list feature, which allows users to choose which friends they want to share certain information with. However, the Moments app should make sharing messages with certain users more accessible.

Facebook has not confirmed the app’s existence. Moreover, the fact that the app is being developed does not mean that it will actually be released, TechCrunch emphasizes. Recently, Facebook released a Snapchat-like app, Slingshot, that allows users to send photos to certain friends.
