Facebook is testing new Notes design
Facebook is working on a new way to present Notes. Where now a Facebook Note is very similar to an ordinary Post, Notes may in the future have a presentation that is much more similar to that of a weblog.
John Biesnecker, an employee at Facebook, posted a new style Note on his own profile today. That discovered Dave Winer. The Note has its own banner at the top and the content is given a lot of space, which makes reading easy. The navigation menu that can normally be found on the left on the Facebook site is also not visible. However, the chat interface on the right has not been removed.
It is not yet completely certain whether and when this upgrade will be fully rolled out. For now, on the Notes page, users will still see the old-style Notes. Biesnecker’s post was a test, he says. The new Notes style is very similar to blogging website Medium. The company that worked on Medium, Teehan+Lax, became part of Facebook this year.
