Facebook is testing feature to hide posts based on keywords

Facebook is testing a way to block posts based on keywords. Posts with those keywords will then not appear in that user’s news feed. This way, users can avoid spoilers of series or movies.

Users can hide posts for up to 30 days by setting a keyword, Facebook reports. This can be done by clicking on the menu on the right in a post and tapping the ‘Snooze keywords’ option, after which Facebook offers suggestions for keywords.

It is not known whether it will be possible to enter keywords yourself, in order to enter posts about, for example, a film or series in advance and to hide posts with spoilers. That now seems to only be possible after the user has seen a post about it.

It’s just a test for now. It is unknown if and when all users will receive the feature. Typically, the social network tests a new feature several weeks to months before it goes live.
