Facebook has nearly two billion monthly active users
According to Facebook, 1.94 billion people are active on the social network every month. The number of daily active users grew to 1.28 billion. Facebook again made much more profit in the past quarter than a year earlier.
In its quarterly figures, Facebook reports a turnover of 8 billion dollars, converted about 7.3 billion euros. Of that, the social network added $3.06 billion as profit. The profit was thus 76 percent higher than in the first quarter of last year. Facebook also recorded a substantial profit increase in the previous quarter, when it was more than a doubling.
Of the revenue, $7.6 billion came from advertising. Worldwide, Facebook achieved ad revenue of $4.14 per user. Last year it was $3.21 in the same quarter. US users are by far the most profitable on Facebook, at $16.56 in the past quarter. Again, mobile ads were the biggest source of income. They accounted for 85 percent of advertising revenue. That is a comparable percentage to the previous quarters.
Facebook is approaching two billion monthly active users. In the past quarter there were 1.94 billion, 76 million more than in the previous quarter. The new users come mainly from Asia and the ‘rest’ of the world.
