Facebook enables live video streaming from desktop and laptop
From Wednesday, Facebook will make it possible to stream live video from a desktop or laptop. Until now, users could only stream live videos from a smartphone. The function can be used immediately.
In addition, users can start streaming live videos on desktop via streaming software, so that gamers can broadcast their gameplay live, for example, Facebook reports. Until now this was only possible on Pages, but now it can also be used with personal accounts. To use the function, Facebook has put a manual online.
Live streaming of video via a built-in webcam is done by clicking on the text box of a new post and then selecting the ‘live video’ option. A separate window will then open containing the camera image.
Facebook introduced live videos for regular accounts last year. It is unknown how many users regularly stream live videos via the social network.
