Facebook configuration issue caused unintended logouts

Due to a configuration change at Facebook on Friday, users were accidentally logged out. That seems to have mainly happened to users of the platform’s iOS application. The problem has now been resolved, Facebook says.

The problem was also worse for users who have two-factor authentication enabled; they had to wait a long time for the text messages with codes to arrive. This is evident from a topic on /r/facebook. In the course of Saturday, Facebook managed to solve the problem.

It is unclear how many users are affected by the issue. In any case, reports of it are not hard to find on Twitter and Reddit. Facebook only informs The Verge that the problem has now been solved, with an apology for the inconvenience.
