An ex-employee of hosting provider Verelox from The Hague has removed all server data. This means that all customer data has also been erased, and may not all be recoverable. As a result, Verelox is currently unable to provide its services.

Verelox has explained what happened on its own website. Because it appears that an ex-employee has removed all data from the servers, customers cannot use the VPS services that Verelox offers. The company hopes to be back online within a week. All dedicated servers are now back online, but Verelox needs more time with the virtual servers. The hosting provider recommends changing all server passwords.

The problems seem to have arisen on Friday, after customers indicated that they could no longer access their data. It is still unclear whether after the actions of the ex-employee, it is still possible to recover all customer data. Verelox has promised to compensate affected customers. It is unclear what prompted the ex-employee to delete the data.
