EvLeaks shows renders of Sony WF-1000XM4 bluetooth headphones
EvLeaks has apparently put official renders of Sony’s WF-1000XM4 earphones online. Earlier, photos of a prototype were released. The design has been significantly changed compared to its predecessors.
Sony’s WF-1000XM4 earphones are no longer pill-shaped, like the Sony WF-1000XM3 earphones that came out in 2019. The successors have a rounder design, as can be seen in the renders that were put online by Evan Blass. With his Twitter account @evleaks, he has been known for years for publishing official renders of smartphones and accessories prior to release.
There will be black and white variants of the bluetooth earphones. New technical details have not appeared. In February, a packaging of the earphones was already on display, with a Hi-Res Audio logo. That could mean they support Sony’s LDAC codec. The current WF-1000XM3 earphones do not. The packaging also stated that the earphones last six hours and that the charging case is good for an extra eighteen hours.
According to rumors, Sony will release the earphones in June. Earlier this month photos of prototypes of the earphones appeared. Judging by the renders that have now been published, the design is pretty much the same. The WF-1000XM4 earphones are expected to be equipped with active noise cancellation, just like their predecessors.
