EVGA releases GTX 1080 Ti video card with 12Gbit/s memory
EVGA releases a GTX 1080 Ti video card with 11GB gddr5x memory clocked at 1500MHz, for an effective throughput of 12Gbit/s. This results in a bandwidth that is 9 percent higher than with models with 11Gbit/s memory.
Thanks to the faster memory, the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Elite has a bandwidth of 528.3GB/s. With versions of GTX 1080 Tis with 11Gbit/s memory, this is 484GB/s. The bandwidth is close to that of the Titan Xp, which achieves 547.7GB/s with slightly slower 11.4Gbit/s memory. However, the absolute top model from Nvidia has a wider 384-bit bus, the GTX 1080 Ti has a 352-bit bus.
EVGA also overclocks the GPU. The base clock is 1569MHz and the boost clock is set to 1683MHz. The new Elite model is otherwise identical to the existing FTW3 Gaming version and has the same cooler. A white and black version is available.
On its website, EVGA mentions a price of 910 euros, but logged in customers would still receive an unknown discount. In any case, the FTW3 Elite can be expected to be more expensive than the FTW3 Gaming variant with slower memory. That model is in the Pricewatch for 889 euros.
