Evga provides matx version X99 board with usb 3.1 type-c
The American Evga introduces a micro-ATX motherboard that is equipped with a single USB 3.1 type-c port on the back. The port has a bandwidth of 10Gb/s and can supply up to 100 Watts of power. Also, a cable in this port can no longer be plugged in the wrong way round.
Previously, the same port was already available on the new MacBook and the Chromebook Pixel 2015, where the port doubles as a connection for the adapter and as a connection point for external devices. When connected to this motherboard, the port could also serve as a supply point for power and data input and output at the same time.
As Evga often does with its motherboards, this model also has extensive support for overclocking the various components. The Evga X99 Micro2 also has more SATA ports and a modified layout and bios compared to its predecessor, the X99 Micro.
The X99 Micro2 is based on Intel’s X99 Express Chipset and can accommodate up to an octacore processor with an lga2011-3 socket. There is also support for a maximum of 64GB of DDR4 memory divided over 4 DIMMs.
The inputs and outputs are provided by four USB 2.0 ports, four USB 3.0 ports and the single USB 3.1 type-c port. Internally there is room for six SATA600 connections and there are headers for USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. Finally, there is an m.2 socket and the board supports 3-way-sli. The Evga X99 Micro2 is not yet available in the Benelux. In the Evga Store, the model costs 229 dollars, converted and including VAT currently around 255 euros.
