EVGA is working on motherboard with AMD Ryzen chipset
Hardware manufacturer EVGA is working on Dark series motherboard with AMD Ryzen chipset, the company’s first motherboard with AMD chipset. The brand hints at that in a short teaser. There is no word yet on when this motherboard should be released.
EVGA released a nine-second teaser trailer yesterday featuring just the word “Dark” and the Ryzen logo, which refers to EVGA’s premium Dark series. In the same series, EVGA recently released an Intel Z590 motherboard. This new one would be based on the AMD Ryzen chipset, judging by the Ryzen logo.
Techsite Tom’s Hardware expects it to be an X570 series motherboard. That site also says it is possible that it is an X570 FTW, but considers it unlikely. There is no further information available besides the teaser about what motherboard it is and when it should be released.
It is the first AMD motherboard from EVGA, a company that has had strong ties to Intel and Nvidia for years. EVGA did once make nForce 730a motherboards, which technically had an AMD processor, but they used Nvidia chipsets.
