EVGA comes with CPU coolers that link RGB LEDs with graphics card
Manufacturer EVGA has presented two models of closed loop CPU coolers. The RGB LEDs on the coolers can be synchronized with those of EVGA graphics cards, so they display the same colors at the same times.
To make the RGB LEDs light up the same color at the same time, users must link the graphics card and the CPU cooler, after which a button in the software can control both RGB LEDs at the same time, the manufacturer claims. The feature is compatible with some manufacturer’s GTX cards. Soon, software from the hardware maker will follow to set other things in the cooler in addition to the lighting.
EVGA releases two variants. The CLC 120 has a 120mm fan that can rotate between 500 and 2400 times per minute. The cooler produces a maximum of 39.9dB of noise. The CLC 280 has a 140mm fan that does between 600 and 2200 rotations per minute and makes about the same amount of noise.
Both CPU coolers are compatible with regular Intel and AMD sockets and when Ryzen hits the market in March, users will already have an AM4 bracket. EVGA will release the CLC 120 for $90 and the CLC 280 for $130. The coolers will be released in Europe soon, but the European prices are not yet known.
