EVGA has announced versions of the GeForce GTX 780 that come with 6GB gddr5 instead of 3GB. At least one of the cards is going to feature EVGA’s ACX cooler. The starting price of the GTX 780 versions with 6GB is $550.

EVGA does not clarify which models will come, but from the accompanying images it can be concluded that there will be at least a version with a standard cooler and a model with ACX cooler with two fans for lower temperatures. The clock speeds are not yet known.

The mentioned models have twice as much memory as the GTX 780 cards that EVGA has released so far, which should be especially beneficial when gaming at higher resolutions. Furthermore, the cards support Boost Technology 2.0 and they can handle Nvidia’s G-Sync technology for monitors, with which stuttering images should be a thing of the past.

EVGA further mentions its Step-Up program, which gives buyers who recently purchased a card from the company the right to trade it in for a GeForce GTX 780 6GB, paying the price difference. EVGA makes no mention of a GTX 780 Ti with 6GB gddr5. Earlier there were rumors that this one was also on the way.
