Evernote is testing new free version with more restrictions for users
Evernote is testing a new free version. Users of this new version would now be able to create a notebook and fifty notes. It is not yet certain whether the new version will also be available.
Tech website TechCrunch came up with the test thanks to a tip from a free user of the note-taking service. He received a message suggesting the new free version. According to Evernote, about one percent of users have seen this notification and the company has not yet decided whether the new free version will also be available.
Evernote says that users of this new free version will still be able to view, manage, edit, export, and delete their current notes, even if they have more than one notebook and more than fifty notes.
Evernote currently offers a free version where users can upload 60MB per month and a note can be a maximum of 25MB in size. The note-taking service also offers a Personal and Professional subscription. With that first subscription, users receive, among other things, a monthly upload limit of 10GB and a note can be a maximum of 200MB in size. With the professional plan, the monthly upload limit is 20GB and notes have no maximum size. Evernote Personal currently costs 8.33 euros per month. Evernote Professional costs 10.83 euros per month at the time of writing.
