Evernote counts web sessions on the maximum number of devices in the free version
Evernote is going to further limit its free version. From now on, active web sessions will also count towards the limit on the number of devices that non-paying users can use. If you want to use more devices, you have to draw the wallet.
Evernote writes in a blog that it is making the change to the Basic package. That is the free package of the note-taking service. Users can therefore only be logged in on a maximum of two devices. However, so far web sessions did not count. That is now changing. “Evernote Web will count as a device within the two-device limit in our Basic plan,” the service writes.
The service links the change to the app’s recent new codebase. The programs and the web service were completely overhauled earlier this month to become faster and to add functions. It is therefore now possible to set reminders, stack notebooks and merge tags on the web service. “These additions to Evernote Web give users the full experience they have come to expect from other platforms,” said Evernote.
The changes will take effect ‘still in October’. Evernote refers users to the Premium plan that costs $ 6.99 per month if they want to use more devices. Users can temporarily receive a 25 percent discount for this.
Evernote has often changed its revenue model in recent years. Initially there were different payment plans with many different options, but more recently there is only a free and a paid version, in addition to an Enterprise package.
