Eve Announces Community Curated 27″ Monitor with 240Hz Display
Eve Devices announces the Spectrum, a monitor with a screen diagonal of 27 inches that comes on the market in three configurations. The monitor’s properties are based on community member suggestions.
A year ago, Eve posted on his forum asking community members what they considered to be the ultimate computer monitor. In October last year, Eve published the resulting list of specifications and on Monday the company will introduce the full end result in the form of the Spectrum.
The monitor comes in three variants. In all cases, these are 27″ displays with IPS panels that the company will make available later this year in a limited edition of 500 pieces. The design has been kept simple at the request of the community, without exaggerated game elements, and contains a metal frame As far as the interfaces are concerned, there is, among other things, a USB-C port that can supply a power of 100W for charging equipment.
The cheapest variant with a 1440p resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz will appear around July for 349 euros. This model contains the same panel as the LG Ultragear 27gl850, but with a brighter backlight and a different polarizer. Which panels contain the other versions, Eve is not allowed to announce yet, because those versions have not yet been officially announced.
The variant with a refresh rate of 240Hz and a resolution of 1440p will be released sometime around October for 489 euros, while a 4k Spectrum should also appear at the beginning of the fourth quarter, with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz and a price of 589 euros. If the first stock of five hundred copies is sold out, a new production round will follow. Subsequent copies should become more widely available, but will be offered for an unknown, higher price.
The standard is available separately for 99 dollars, a euro price is not yet known. According to Eve Devices, the standard is available separately at the request of the community. 46.6 percent said they wanted this option to mount the monitor themselves via the 100×100 vesamount.
Eve Devices became known for its Eve V, a 2-in-1 device that it had put together by the community as an alternative to Microsoft’s Surface Pro.
