According to Eurogamer, Nintendo will release a modern variant of the SNES at the end of this year, as a successor to the NES Classic Mini, which came out at the end of last year. Nintendo has already stopped producing the small NES console.

Eurogamer, known for its good resources in the game and console industry, writes that it has heard about the arrival of the SNES Mini from sources close to Nintendo. It is not yet known what the console will be called, but it is obvious that it is the SNES Classic Mini, following the NES Classic Mini.

It is also expected that the small Super Nintendo version, just like the mini-NES, will be equipped with pre-installed games. Candidates include Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat II, Starfox, F-Zero, Donky Kong Country, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Killer Instinct. Nintendo supplied thirty games with the NES Classic Mini.

Nintendo announced the NES Classic Mini in July last year and released the console in November. 1.5 million units of that console were sold and the demand for the device exceeds the supply, so that the prices on auction sites are often higher than the new price. This week, Nintendo confirmed that production of the tiny NES has stopped. Nintendo told IGN that it was never intended to keep the small console in the range for long.
