Essential begins delivery of first smartphone
The first Essential Phones have been delivered to customers who have placed a pre-order, the smartphone maker reports. The delivery of the device with the thin bezels of Android founder Andy Rubin has been delayed several times.
Essential made announced on Twitter that it has started to deliver the smartphone. The first pre-orderers have received an email with delivery information. However, it has not been announced how many Essential Phones will be delivered, so it is unclear how many people have to wait any longer.
The delivery of the Essential Phone should have taken place in June, but the smartphone maker of Android founder Andy Rubin suffered from delays. Last month, Essential announced that it would deliver the smartphone within a few weeks.
The Essential Phone stands out for its thin bezels and has a 5.7″ screen and a Snapdragon 835-soc. There are also accessories such as a 360-degree camera that can be attached to the smartphone.
