Epic Games Store Starts Supporting Cloud Saves

The Epic Games Store gets support for cloud saves. It already works for the two games that are free to download this week and in the future it will be possible to save save games online with more games.

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney confirms the cloud saves support on Twitter, after a user pointed out the option’s appearance with the game Moonlighter. This War of Mine also now has an option for cloud saves, Reddit noted. Those two games are available to download for free from the Epic Games Store this month.

It is not yet clear when other games will receive the functionality and whether this will apply to all games. Sweeney doesn’t provide details about that in his tweet and Epic has not announced the functionality. The lack of cloud saves is seen by many as a lack compared to, for example, Steam. Epic started its game store late last year.
