Epic Games has created the first Android, iOS and HTML5 game to run on Unreal Engine 4. The game was created by a single employee of the company and is said to have been developed to demonstrate the flexibility of the engine.

Tappy Chicken is a game reminiscent of the popular Flappy Bird and was created by a single Epic Games employee who, according to the app’s description, lacks traditional programming skills. The maker would only have used the blueprints of Unreal Engine 4. According to Epic Games, Tappy Chicken does not show the full graphical power of the engine, but it does show how almost anyone can develop a fun game with it.

Unreal Engine 4 is a new engine that originates from Unreal Engine 3. With the third version of the engine, several games have already been developed, such as BioShock: Infinite and Batman: Arkham Origins. With Unreal Engine 4, the new Unreal Tournament game is currently being developed.

Epic Games has been developing Unreal Engine 4 for some time. For example, it added support for the Oculus Rift in June last year and support for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 added at the end of April. Interested parties can use Unreal Engine 4 via a subscription that costs 19 euros per month. However, they must hand over five percent of the proceeds from released games to Epic Games.
