Epic Games has again delayed the release of the new Fortnite season. Season 3 of Chapter 2 will now be released on June 17th. The one-off The Device event has been postponed to June 15. The reason for the postponement is the worldwide anti-racism protests.

The new event and season will be released on June 15 and 17, respectively, Epic Games wrote in a blog post. The developer cites the recent protests in America and other countries as the reason. “We are aware of the pain our friends, families, team members, players and communities are experiencing,” the developer wrote. “We need to balance the release of Season 3 with time for the team to focus on itself, its families and communities.”

It’s not the first time the game’s new chapter has been delayed. Initially, Chapter 2 was supposed to be released in May, but that was postponed to early June. At the time, the company gave no reason for this.

Epic is not the first developer to postpone a game release because of the anti-racism protests. Activision announced earlier this week that Season 4 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been postponed to a later date. Also, events such as announcements are postponed. CD Projekt RED postponed an event to reveal more information about Cyberpunk 2077.
