English version of Pangu jailbreak with Cydia for iOS 8.1 comes out
Version 1.1 of the Pangu jailbreak for iOS 8 and 8.1 has been released. The new variant adds English language support and comes with Cydia, the most popular alternative download store for jailbroken iOS devices.
The Chinese developers put Pangu 1.1 online on Friday afternoon. It’s still only a Windows version: the developers promise to make a variant for OS X, but they take time. The developers do not specify when they expect to release an OS X version.
Version 1.1 adds an English translation to the jailbreak; users were only shown the Chinese language with version 1.0. In addition, alternative download store Cydia is incorporated in the jailbreak. Developer Saurik had it not ready in time for the first release of the jailbreak, because the app was not yet compatible with iOS 8. That is now the case.
The first version of Pangu came out a week and a half ago. It is the first publicly available jailbreak for iOS 8 and 8.1. The developers of Pangu were also the first with a jailbreak under iOS 7.
