Pretty Easy Privacy is a tool that is initially released for Outlook and Android to send encrypted e-mail. The makers behind p≡p started over a year ago with a crowdfunding project on Indiegogo.

Users should be able to easily send encrypted e-mails via p≡p. Not only does the tool make it easier to email encrypted, the program can also anonymize messages. P≡p is open source and works via a decentralized peer-to-peer infrastructure and removes the ‘complicated, user-initiated key management’, making it easy to use for everyone.

The goal is to run the service on many different platforms and applications, such as Apple Mail, Thunderbird, and through web browsers. Initially, only an Outlook app for Outlook 2010 and newer is available. The app costs $19.99 per year. The Android app is free. A version for iOS should be available soon.

The team behind the Swiss company consists of 25 people. There is also a version for companies. The core of the program can also be adapted for use in other applications. The core engine runs on OSX, Linux, Windows, Android and iOS. There is also a whole range of adapters.
