Elon Musk’s The Boring Company has finished digging its first tunnel
Elon Musk’s tunneling company, The Boring Company, has finished drilling a tunnel in Las Vegas. A milestone for the company, as it is the first tunnel. Las Vegas will also be provided with more tunnels in the near future.
The milestone was celebrated with a short video which shows a company drill breaking through a wall at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The tunnel is a mile long, and it took three months of digging and drilling to reach the final stop.
Nearly a year ago, The Boring Company announced it would build a tunnel network in Las Vegas. Then January next year was given as the delivery date; In the near future, The Boring Company will therefore work on preparing the tunnel for use.
The tunnel for the LVCC is therefore the first the company has completed. Incidentally, The Boring Company already made a test tunnel in Los Angeles. The LVCC wants to use the tunnel for autonomous vehicles that quickly transport visitors across the site. The conference center also hosts the CES trade fair.
