Elon Musk: Tesla pickup truck gets Blade Runner-like appearance
According to Elon Musk, the pickup truck that Tesla is working on will have a futuristic, Blade Runner and cyberpunk-like appearance. It’s the Tesla CEO’s favorite project and he says he doesn’t care if people will buy the vehicle.
When asked who Tesla wants to sell the pickup truck to, Musk replies: “I don’t know if many people want to buy this pickup, but I don’t care”. The pickup is a vehicle Musk has wanted to make for a long time, he says. If few people are interested in the futuristic-looking vehicle, Tesla will later make a more conventional model, the CEO adds. The Tesla CEO makes the statements in an interview with Recode, which can also be listened to as an eighty-minute podcast.
It has been known for some time that Tesla is working on a pickup truck. Musk announced the plans at the presentation of the truck that the company is working on. The pickup will be on the market after the Model Y, which is an SUV, but when is not yet clear. At the first presentation, Tesla already showed an image of the pick-up, but it is possible that the final design differs considerably.
Musk will not let go of substantive details about the pickup truck, or about other new Tesla vehicles in the interview. He also talks with Recode about his statements on Twitter, about traveling to Mars and about the Space Force idea of US President Donald Trump.
