Elon Musk shows the first product of his AI company X AI: ‘sarcastic’ chatbot
Elon Musk has shown the first product of his latest company X AI: an AI chatbot along the lines of ChatGPT. The chatbot should become available to a ‘select group’ of users on Saturday. According to Musk, the intention is that this bot will eventually become accessible to X Premium+ users.
On X shows Elon Musk the first screenshots of its AI chatbot, called Grok. He doesn’t mention the specific purpose of the chatbot, but he does say that, unlike similar models, it has “real-time access to info via X.” The bot’s answers should also distinguish themselves because the bot naturally uses sarcasm and humor, Musk says.
The bot should become available to a select number of testers on Saturday. Musk does not mention exactly what kind of group this is. He claims that the bot should eventually become available to all X Premium+ subscribers. That subscription was introduced last month and costs 16 euros per month.
In July, Elon Musk announced that it had founded an AI company, although no concrete applications were mentioned at the time. The company employs individuals who previously worked in the artificial intelligence departments of various tech companies, including Google and Microsoft. Musk was one of the first investors and board members of GPT maker OpenAI, but has not been involved for some time.
