Elon Musk releases renders from SpaceX Marsbasis and BFR rocket
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has released renders from a base on Mars. This shows how the company sees a base on the red planet, and how the new BFR rocket will be designed. Detailed plans are still lacking.
The top man of SpaceX, Tesla and the Boring Company put the renders on Twitter, without giving much context. He said in a persecution tweet that it would probably take until 2028 before a base could be set up on Mars, with the name Mars Base Alpha. Incidentally, it is known from SpaceX that it has to postpone plans for the future.
On the renders the BFR, or Big Falcon Rocket, can be seen next to the base. SpaceX is still developing this rocket, and from next year the first test flights have to be carried out . The render shows that SpaceX has updated the design of its new rocket, compared to renders that it showed last year.
Earlier this week Musk announced that SpaceX is going to start transporting space tourists around the moon. The first flight could take place in five years.
