Elgato Stream Deck gets paid download store

The Elgato Stream Deck will have a download store with the option for paid plugins, profiles and icon packs. So says the Corsair subsidiary. The payment option should go live later this year.

Elgato has a download store, but payments are not possible. The company, part of Corsair, will make it possible to offer downloads for a fee. Exact details about the payment, for example, are not yet known. The company has been working on this feature for two years, general manager Julian Fest told The Verge.

The benefit for plugin and icon pack makers is that they don’t have to create their own payment method on their own site, but can instead lean on Elgato’s own infrastructure. The payment option should be available later this year, but the company does not mention when exactly it will be.
