Electronic Arts Acknowledges Issues With Anthem Players Closing PS4 Consoles
Publisher Electronic Arts confirms that Anthem players on the PlayStation 4 may experience issues that lead to completely shutdown consoles. Quite a few players have been complaining about this recently.
Electronic Arts reports that it is aware of reports of a “crash issue” occurring when playing Anthem. The publisher reports that the issue is being investigated and asks players to submit the crash data if requested. It is still unclear what the exact cause is, how widespread the problem is and when a solution is in sight.
On EA’s official game forum, a community manager asks players to respond if they experience hard crashes while playing Anthem. Players must indicate which PS4 version it concerns, when the crash occurred and what steps have been taken to get the device working again. At the time of writing, nearly 600 players have reported the specific issue under the community manager’s post.
It’s about a crash while playing Anthem, where players don’t get to the main menu or the game quits; instead, the PlayStation 4 console completely shuts down, with the normal startup procedure often not sufficient to get the device up and running again. This has recently been complained about by all kinds of players. For example, some players had to unplug the power to restart their PlayStation 4, while a few can’t get the device to work at all after the crash.
