Eizo introduces 27″ screen with USB-C connection
Eizo has announced the FlexScan EV2780. The 27″ monitor has a USB-C connection, with which it can be connected to a laptop. The laptop is supplied with power via the USB cable.
The connection via the type-c connection of USB 3.1 Gen 1 allows the screen to serve as a second monitor, USB hub and power supply for a connected computer with just one cable. The monitor can deliver a maximum of 30 watts of power via a USB-C cable. The FlexScan EV2780 can also be connected with displayport and hdmi.
The screen has a 27″ IPS panel with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The panel has a contrast value of 1000:1, a maximum brightness of 350cd/m2 and viewing angles of 178°. On the back of the screen are two USB 3.0 ports and a 3.5mm jack. It also has two 0.5W speakers. The screen is able to display the image of two computers simultaneously, each controlling a different half of the screen. allows the monitor to be adjusted in height, rotated in portrait orientation, pivoted on the base and tilted forwards or backwards.
On the Japanese website of Eizo, the monitor is for sale for 102,800 yen. Converted and with VAT, that comes out to about 1100 euros. It is not known how much the monitor will cost in practice and when it will be available in the Benelux.
