EEC registrations mention the arrival of cheaper AMD AM5 motherboards with A620 chipset

Motherboards with an AMD A620 chipset have appeared at the EEC. This inspection service shows registrations of various A620 motherboards, which will receive an AM5 socket and will probably be cheaper than existing boards with a B650 or X670 chipset.

Several A620 motherboards recently appeared in registrations with the Eurasian Economic Commission, discovered tech website VideoCardz. Five different Gigabyte motherboards are listed in a listing by the inspection service. Going by the product names, all five of these will have a micro-ATX form factor. A Chinese web store also published information about an unannounced ASUS TUF Gaming A620M Plus D5 motherboard. That suggests that the first A620 motherboards will hit the market soon, although that has not yet been officially confirmed.

To date, only B650 and X670 motherboards for AMD’s Ryzen 7000 desktop processors have been released. The processor designer has not yet confirmed the arrival of an A620 chipset. With previous Ryzen generations, the company did release chipsets with such an A prefix. These had fewer PCIe lanes and USB ports than their higher positioned counterparts and were therefore mainly used in cheaper motherboards. Presumably, overclocking capabilities will also be limited on A620 motherboards.
