Edge gets kid mode with built-in blocklists and secure search

The Edge browser gets a separate kids mode. In it, the search engine defaults to filtered results, and blocklists are activated that parents can supplement themselves with unsafe or unwanted websites.

Kids mode is available as an option in Edge. Users therefore do not need to install additional software for this. In Kids mode, among other things, search engine Bing is automatically put into safe search mode. Blocklists are also activated directly on which many websites such as porn are blocked. Microsoft has compiled those lists itself, but parents can also manually add websites to them.

The new mode can be invoked directly from the settings bar in Edge. There is the option to log in with different profiles. When users select the mode, they get a new screen with a new background, and immediately a number of links to child-friendly websites. The feature is currently in beta, and can only be used in the Canary build of the browser.
