Ebusco signs contract with Deutsche Bahn to supply 800 electric buses
The Brabant electric bus manufacturer Ebusco has signed a deal with Deutsche Bahn for the delivery of hundreds of vehicles. It is expected that Ebusco will be able to build 800 buses for the German transport company in the coming years.
Ebusco say that it has signed an agreement with Deutsche Bahn. This makes Ebusco ‘the main supplier’ of electric buses for the German company. The agreement applies in any case for the period 2023-2024, but there are two options for extension in 2025 and 2026.
In principle, Ebusco has an on-call contract for 260 buses. The company can make this from the moment that Deutsche Bahn does the tender with regional carriers. For the total contract period, Ebusco can make a maximum of 800 buses.
The bus maker from Deurne went public in October last year and raised 300 million euros. The company already had the ambition to expand abroad. This year, the company’s factory should be able to produce up to 500 electric buses per year. There are currently 346 of the buses in Europe.
