Early build of Gods & Monsters was playable on Google Stadia by mistake
An early playable build of Ubisoft’s Gods & Monsters appeared on Google Stadia prematurely. A short video of gameplay is on Reddit. It is a demo version of the game that was used at E3 last year.
The game was briefly available on Stadia under the name Orpheus. A Reddit user opened the game and posted a short video online. This indicates that it is an early build. Many elements are still missing. The fantasy RGP graphic style resembles that of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game also contains elements from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This way you can see the compass that is also in that game, just like a menu with a quest log. They are probably placeholders.
Ubisoft explained to Eurogamer that the game was playable on Stadia due to an error. It is a one-year-old build, which was shown behind the scenes at E3 in 2019. The publisher itself will show gameplay footage of the game later in the summer. According to Google Stadia, the build was available in less than 30 minutes and “a few hundred” users have played the game.
Gods & Monsters was announced last year. Players take on the role of a character who must help the gods defeat monsters. At the initial announcement, Ubisoft only showed a teaser trailer. It is not yet known when the game will be released.
