Earin has launched a campaign for wireless earbuds
Earin has developed earplugs that do not contain any cables and can be connected to a device such as a smartphone via bluetooth. The founders of the company hope to raise enough money for the production through a Kickstarter campaign.
Earin’s concept consists of two separate earplugs, which jointly function as one device and can be connected to, for example, a smartphone via Bluetooth. By not using any cables, the earplugs are barely noticeable when they are in the ear. Each earbud, which weighs five grams, contains a battery with a capacity of 50mAh, which would ensure that the user can listen to music for about three hours.
A ‘capsule’ is included which is intended to hold the two earplugs. It also contains a battery, but to be able to charge the earbuds on the go. In total, you can listen to music for about six hours with all batteries. The capsule, with a battery capacity of 100mAh, must be charged via micro-usb.
Earin hopes to raise enough money through a Kickstarter campaign to be able to release the wireless earbuds. Anyone interested has to pay 99 pounds, converted about 124 euros. The company aims to raise a total of £179,000, which is likely achievable given the pace at which the money is coming in. Anyone who buys Earin earplugs will receive them in January next year. As soon as the wireless earbuds finally appear on the market, Earin will charge a price of 159 pounds.
