EA to show new Star Wars: Battlefront and Need For Speed in June
EA has announced that there will be a playable version of the new Star Wars: Battlefront game at its Play event ahead of E3. There will also be a new Need for Speed game and sports titles such as FIFA 18 will be playable.
There are not many details about the new games yet. Last year at the EA Play event, it was announced that Motive Studios and Criterion are working with DICE on the sequel to Star Wars: Battlefront. The new part should contain more content than the first game. It is not yet clear whether that means a single player campaign will be present. Presumably, EA will tell more about that during this year’s EA Play event. In any case, the game will be released this year; the publisher wants to release a new Star Wars game every year.
In addition to the new Star Wars: Battlefront game, a playable version of a new entry in the Need for Speed series will be shown. No further information is available about that game. The 18 versions of sports games such as Madden NFL, FIFA and NBA Live will be playable during the event. Those sports games traditionally come out at the end of the summer.
The publisher will be breaking the news about the games in the announcement of EA Play, which will take place in Hollywood from June 10-12. The event takes place in the days leading up to the start of the E3 games show, which will be held in Los Angeles from June 14-16 this year. For several years, EA has been organizing its own event just before the fair at a different location.
