EA shows first images of next The Sims game
Electronic Arts shows the first images of a new The Sims game under the name Project Rene during a presentation. The development of the game is at a very early stage and will be worked out in ‘the next few years’.
With the announcement wants EA to say get feedback from Sims fans to guide the development process. The developer states that the upcoming Sims project should be a “creative platform” where players should be able to easily share their experiences.
The images show, among other things, that players are given the opportunity to adjust furniture in detail; patterns, colors and shapes of furniture can be adjusted in the preview. These designs and composites of multiple designs can then be saved and shared. Furthermore, during the presentation, EA reveals that Project Rene supports crossplay on at least PCs and smartphones. Players seem to be able to build environments simultaneously in a multiplayer mode.
It’s not yet clear whether the announcement of the project in question is a build-up to The Sims 5 or if EA is planning something else. The Sims 4 will be free-to-play starting October 18, and a free-to-play mobile version of the life simulator is also available.
