EA seems to be working on a return to Steam

EA may start selling games on Steam again. In recent weeks, Dragon Age 2 has had an update to its database registration, ten months ago someone on Steam played an EA game that was never for sale there and EA now seems to be hinting at it on Twitter too.

The hint from EA is a short video of an EA mug containing a hot, steaming drink. The accompanying text is a brief ‘…’. However, combined with a Steam database update to Dragon Age 2 on October 15, and the fact that someone played EA game The Saboteur on Steam ten months ago even though it was never for sale there, this may mean more. In addition, a Steam-Origin integration tool has a got an update.

Those interested also note that in a review of its upcoming client redesign, Valve showed screenshots showing Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, a game EA never sold on Steam. However, this piece of information comes from Valve itself and is from seven months ago. That might make it worth less.

EA sold until it set up its own Origin platform in 2011, and a short time after that, games are also on Steam. The last game EA offered on Steam was Warp, in 2012. Whether EA would bring all of its games to Steam or just a certain selection of titles is not clear.
