EA Motive shows more gameplay footage of Dead Space remake
EA Motive released more gameplay footage of the Dead Space remake on Friday. The video lasts eight minutes and shows, among other things, the new version of the USG Ishimura, the spaceship where the game takes place.
In the gameplay video producer Philippe Ducharme gives a tour of the spaceship. He shows that the hangar in the remake is bigger than in the original version of the game. In the new version of the hangar, the player can explore it by flying around. Ducharme also shows a feature called Intensity Director. With this, the placement of enemies and certain effects, such as smoke and light, are different in every play session.
The video also contains images of features that have already been shown, including the so-called ‘Peeling’ system. The models of the enemies are made up of different layers of bone, tendons and muscles. These can be fired or sawed off in various ways. What the removal of body parts looks like depends on the angle from which the monsters are attacked by the player and which weapon the player uses.
The Dead Space remake was announced earlier this year. In early October, EA Motive showed the first gameplay footage of the game. With the remake, the developer wants to take the horror experience of the game from 2008 to a new level. Not only should the game look better graphically, but it should also become a more intense game through better sound and camera work. Earlier, the developer already reported that the game will consist of one continuous scene. Dead Space is due out on January 27, 2023. The game has been announced for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
