EA makes Sims 2 Ultimate Edition free for a limited time
EA is giving away the Sims 2, including all expansion packs, for free for a limited time. Gamers have until July 31 to download the game via Origin by entering a special code. Sims 2 owners could already upgrade to the Ultimate Edition for free.
EA describes the steps to download Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free on its site. Gamers must have an Origin client and can enter the code ‘I-LOVE-THE-SIMS’ under ‘Redeem product code’ on the Games tab. However, this is only possible until July 31; then the action expires.
They then get the Sims 2 with all the released expansion packs. This includes not only the eight expansion packs such as Nightlife, University, Pets and Seasons, but also the ten Stuff packs such as Celebration Stuff, Mansion & Garden, Happy Holiday Stuff and Glamor Life Stuff.
The Sims 2 was released in 2004 and the last expansion pack was released in 2008. It is one of the best selling titles ever. Last week, EA ended support for the game; so there are no more patches for it.
