EA and Marvel announced their partnership on Monday in a press release. The two companies are sharing few details about the title, though EA is calling the Black Panther game an “original third-person single-player game.” New developer Cliffhanger Games is making that game in collaboration with Marvel Games. The game is still in the early stages of development.

Cliffhanger Games is led by Kevin Stephens. He previously worked at Monolith Productions on the Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War games, among others. The new studio also employs developers who previously worked on Halo Infinity, God of War and Call of Duty. The company will be based in Seattle. It is not known how many employees the new studio has.

Black Panther joins several other Marvel franchises that are being made into games with this announcement. For example, Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac previously made games in the Spider-Man universe and is currently working on Spider-Man 2 and a Wolverine game. Eidos made games based on Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers. EA Motive is in turn working on an Iron Man game.
