EA game players may be affected by ddos attacks – update
EA games have been experiencing outages for several days, including Apex Legends and games from the Battlefield and FIFA series. The Origin platform has been affected and so have other EA services. The company reports that it has suffered from DDOs attacks.
The EA Help Account on Twitter reported rather that the company’s servers had to deal with several DDOs attacks. The company then indicated that those problems had been solved and that, for example, the making competitions was once again possible in the FIFA games, but EA has now indicated that the weather is having problems and that to be examined.
EA’s first report of the issues popped up a day ago on Twitter, but the problems with Origin, among others, have been going on for several days. On AllFaults and its international equivalent, Down Detector, the issues with Origin are visible and countless players are complaining about the issues affecting FIFA 2020, Battlefield V, and Apex Legends, among others. Logging in with Origin used to be difficult and seems to be difficult even now.
Given the mixed messages from EA, it seems that the attacks and the problems are not over. The company does not yet provide an estimate for when everything should work properly again. By the way, Blizzard also had a day ago in the US dealing with ddos attacks, but those problems seem to be resolved relatively quickly.
Update, 1:59 PM: EA reports on Twitter that the connectivity issues with all titles have now been resolved.
